Happy Birthday Bug!

We celebrated Sophie's 1st birthday this weekend. So hard to believe, but it's here! We had a great time celebrating in NC with family. We had a yummy spaghetti dinner and of course cake and ice cream! She was cautious with her cake at first, but she got into it pretty quickly!

 

 

 

 

A few changes

So, after 5 1/2 years of buying diapers, we made the switch to cloth. And now I wish we had done it much sooner! I just choose to look at it from the angle of Sophie still has a while in diapers, so the savings will still apply!



Another positive to these is that they help her fill out her shorts and pants a little better so they fall off less- such a tiny bug!


And another change is that it's time for Sophie to give up her bottle and move on to the cup. It's strange thinking that she is the last one and we won't be using bottles again.



So, those are the major changes for this week- I'm sure she'll be up and moving soon also, so we will start chasing her around in no time!

New favorite evening activity

Bike riding! Sophie loves her seat on mommy's bike. She's not always crazy about her helmet, but as soon as she starts riding, she's as happy as can be! Her little head is so small that her helmet makes her look like a bobble head :)

Visiting The Living Museum

We went to the Living Museum this weekend to see the Dinosaur exhibit. We had a great time- we saw all sorts of different animals that are native to Virginia along with the dinosaur visitors (which Tyler explained to us that they were robots- can't fool him).

Tyler's Birthday Party

Tyler had his 4th birthday party today and he had a blast! We had several friends over and played in the pool and slip and slide. He had requested a Toy Story birthday, so we had lots of fun Toy Story stuff at the party- even Toy Story mac and cheese- which all the kiddos seemed to really like! Here are just a few of the pictures of the fun- thanks to all who joined us!

So tomorrow Tyler is having a birthday party with family and friends. Mommy made him a cake, and Tyler was pretty happy with it when he checked it out....

Happy Birthday Tyler!

Our Tyler man is 4! We did a small celebration at home and he opened a couple of presents and then mommy and daddy took Tyler and Caleb to meet up with Jack and his parents for dinner and more treats.

Happy 10 months, Little Bug

And she's so happy! She's crawling around everywhere and pulling up on everything. She babbles all the time and loves the water- she loves to swim. She would rather eat regular food for every meal, and is not biggest fan of baby food, so she is getting to try out all sorts of new foods lately!

 
 

Jockey's Ridge

Daddy joined us for the last part of our beach trip, so on Friday the boys and mommy and daddy took a trip to Jockey's Ridge. The weather was beautiful- a pretty unusual cool day for the beginning of July. The boys had a blast climbing up the huge sand dunes and just in general having a great time!

 

 

 

 

Hermit Crab Lessons

We got hermit crabs today! And we were lucky to have Aunt Sarah teach us how to take care of them. Everyone got to choose and name their own. Caleb named his crab Mac and Cheese- or Mac for short. Tyler named his Henry- like the hermit crab on Dinosaur Train. Garett named his Dude- his latest favorite phrase is "what's up dude?" Which is what he asks his crab every time he gets him out of his cage.

Garett was exhausted after his day of playing- that's what happens when you go non-stop and wake up at 7 am!
